Vacuuming And Charging Method

Purging the piping and the indoor unit

The outdoor unit is equipped by two 3-way refrigerating connecting valves. The suction valve is the larger one

whereas the smaller one is the liquid valve. Both valves are supplied with service port valve for connection to a

manometer.

ó Remove the caps from the valve and the service port.

ó Connect the center manifold gauge to the vacuum pump.

ó Connect the manifold gauge to the service port of the 3-way valve.

ó Start the vacuum pump. Evacuate for approximately one hour (evacuation time varies with pump capacity).

Conﬁ rm that the manifold gauge needle has moved towards –30inHg (-76cmHg).

ó Close the manifold valve and stop the vacuum pump.

ó On the outdoor unit, open the suction valve and

ó liquid valve (in anti-clockwise direction) with 4mm key for hexagon sacked screw.

ó The air conditioner unit is now ready for start.

ó Start the unit and run it for 10 to 15 minutes. The low pressure valve reading must be within the recommended

value range as shown in the table.

ó If the reading is within the indicated value range, the unit is running in good condition.

ó If the reading is beyond the indicated value range, the refrigerant circuit has a leak. Check and seal the leak. Top

up the charge if necessary.

ó If the reading is close to the value 0, the refrigerant circuit must be evacuated (by using vacuum pump) and be

charged (with R22) again.
